The Proposal Wars
Valentine's had been a bust. Twice. First because he had chickened out - at least that was the only time he chickened out, Blitzø thought!! This year's Valentine's had gotten kinda derailed when he lost the fuckin' ring in the chocolate he was trying to embed it in like a fucking idiot, but at least he managed to find it before anyone ate the damn thing.
There was that GREAT time in the little island vacation on Earth... they were on a row boat out over the water and everything and like a fucking idiot he dropped the first ring he had picked out into the goddamn ocean and there was NO way he was surviving swimming to the bottom to fight the lionfish for it. Damn it.
The amazing horse riding in Wrath after slutting it up in Sluttony, fuck, he ALMOST found the perfect moment. Riding their horses side-by-side, the volcanic suns descending into their vents, the pretty blues and oranges of their horses' flames dancing light on Stolas' pretty silver feathers.......... Stolas had seemed like he'd wanted to say something, though, so Blitzø wasn't sure when to pop the question, and then there was the fact that he and Stolas accidentally fell off their horses trying to lean in to each other for a kiss and then he had to carry his bird back, lead the horses and try to pretend he wasn't limping the whole way back from twisting his ankle a little. Fucking. Oops.
Then there was all that stupid bullshit in the courtroom, and FUCK, Blitzø wanted to tip Stolas over and kiss him right in front of the devil and the sins and all the Goetia like fuck you dumb assholes - but no fucking way was he probably gonna get away with a whole ass proposal to Stolas in front of every noble in hell (or what felt like every noble in hell).
Two weeks ago was his most recent attempt... he'd gone out to dinner with big bird, told him, hey Stolz, I gotta ask you something-- and then RIGHT as he was about to bring out the box, some other succu-bitch proposed to HER girlfriend in that same goddamn restaurant like fuck!!! Assmuncher, get your own fucking proposal night!!!
There were a million other little fuckups making this shit way, way harder and stupider than it needed to be and he was half tempted to just say 'fuck it' and grab Stolas and say 'we're married now' - but no, no. Stolas wanted that romantic gesture stuff, that shit meant stuff to him, he had to pull this off.
But hey!!! Via is 18, now, the threat of Andrealphus is totally fucked and not a problem, their kids are thriving and doing great and the divorce is basically done, and now he just has to not fuck this up himself.
Tonight, they've had a nice date and they're alone, enjoying a little night on the beach on Earth - just them, the sea breeze and the glittering night sky that his bird LOVED so much. This was IT, he wasn't gonna fuck this up, and no one else was here to interrupt.
"Hey. Stolz."

Recently he felt that something was a bit off with Blitzø. Not it any bad way, just felt like something was on his mind. Over the past few months, they had gone on many grand and romantic dates that he was suspecting that he was gearing up to ask a certain big question. But each time, nothing happened and Stolas began to wonder if it was all in is wild imagination again. It was fine. What they had was fine. Yet... it didn't stop him from stashing his own ring, hidden in their shared bedroom behind a stack of books he knew the imp wouldn't dream of touching. He enjoyed them.
So there they the two of them were, simply sharing a single beach towel together with Stolas still wearing the little red speedo from earlier as he leaned his head against Blitzø's shoulders. He barely moved when the imp spoke up.
"Yes, Darling?"

"You look at stars and constellations and shit, right? Think there's any imps up there? I bet there's some owls for sure."
